Lichtkunst in Wetzlar

Der Künstler Philipp Geist realisiert am 1. und 2. September im Rahmen des Brückenfests 2023 in Wetzlar eine spektakuläre Video- / Lichtinstallation an der Alten Lahnbrücke. Bereits im vergangenen Jahr hatte Philipp Geist anlässlich des Jubiläums '250 Jahre Goethe in Wetzlar' eine Video- / Lichtinstallation für Wetzlar entwickelt. Nachdem das Projekt verschoben werden musste, soll es nun am 1. und 2. September im Rahmen des Brückenfests 2023 in Wetzlar umso heller strahlen.

spektrum 2023 kreist um Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Farbenlehre. Dabei arbeitet der Künstler vorwiegend mit abstrahierten Farbkompositionen, mit Begriffen und Abbildungen aus dem Werk von Goethe. Diese werden großflächig auf die Alte Lahnbrücke, auf Bäume, einen Teilbereich des Wehrs und auf künstlichen Theaternebel projiziert.

Die freie künstlerische Installation eröffnet den Besuchern die Möglichkeit, in die Installationen einzutauchen und verschiedenste Architekturen im urbanen Raum als bewegte, malerische Lichtskulpturen zu erleben. Für die Installation soll eigens Musik mit eingeflochtenen gesprochenen Textpassagen und Begriffen entstehen. Philipp Geist, der bereits in vielen Metropolen weltweit Projekte realisiert hat, lässt also die Goethe- und Optikstadt Wetzlar in einem buchstäblich 'neuen Licht' erscheinen.

Die Video- / Lichtinstallation spektrum 2023, initiiert und realisiert vom Industrienetzwerk Wetzlar Network in Kooperation mit dem Stadt-Marketing Wetzlar, wird ein spektakuläres Erlebnis für alle.

Light art in Wetzlar
On September 1st and 2nd, the artist Philipp Geist will realize a spectacular video / light installation at the Old Lahn Bridge as part of the Bridge Festival 2023 in Wetzlar. Last year Philipp Geist developed a video/light installation for Wetzlar on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Goethe in Wetzlar. After the project had to be postponed, it should now shine all the brighter on September 1st and 2nd as part of the Bridge Festival 2023 in Wetzlar.

spectrum 2023 revolves around Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's color theory. The artist mainly works with abstract color compositions, with terms and illustrations from the work of Goethe. These are projected over a large area onto the Old Lahn Bridge, onto trees, a part of the weir and onto artificial theater fog.

The free artistic installation gives visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the installations and to experience a wide variety of architecture in urban space as moving, picturesque light sculptures. Music with interwoven spoken text passages and terms is to be created specifically for the installation. Philipp Geist, who has already implemented projects in many metropolises worldwide, lets Wetzlar, the city of Goethe and optics, literally appear in a "new light".

The video / light installation spectrum 2023, initiated and realized by the industrial network Wetzlar Network in cooperation with Stadt-Marketing Wetzlar, will be a spectacular experience for everyone.
