Bauhaus100 – Lichtkunstinstallation von Philipp Geist

Zum Bauhaus-Jubiläum realisierte Philipp Geist am 06. September 2025 eine ortsspezifische Lichtkunstinstallation im Mausoleumpark im Tierpark Dessau. Für einen Abend wurden markante Baumgruppen, Wege, Bodenflächen und atmosphärische Elemente wie Nebel zu Trägern einer Bauhaus-inspirierten Bildsprache.

Abstrakte Formen, typografische Elemente, Lichtstrukturen und Bewegungen verbanden Natur, Geschichte, Raum und Gegenwart. Die Arbeit verstand sich als Hommage an das Bauhaus – nicht als rückwärtige Erinnerung, sondern als Weiterführung bauhausbezogener Ideen im offenen Außenraum.

Gerade die Verbindung von organischer Vegetation und formaler Strenge erzeugte eine besondere Spannung. Besucher:innen bewegten sich durch einen begehbaren Lichtraum und wurden selbst Teil der Installation.

For the Bauhaus anniversary, Philipp Geist created a site-specific light art installation on September 6, 2025 in the Mausoleumpark at Tierpark Dessau. For one evening, striking groups of trees, pathways, ground surfaces, and atmospheric elements such as haze became carriers of a Bauhaus-inspired visual language.

Abstract forms, typographic elements, light structures, and motion connected nature, history, space, and the present. The work functioned as a homage to the Bauhaus – not as backward-looking remembrance, but as a continuation of Bauhaus-related ideas in open public space.

The combination of organic vegetation and formal rigor created a particularly compelling tension. Visitors moved through a walk-in light space and became part of the installation themselves.
