Unter dem Motto „Der Zeit ihre Kunst, der Kunst ihre Freiheit“ fand am 18. März 2025 im MUMUTH (György-Ligeti-Saal) der Kunstuniversität Graz eine Präsentation studentischer Arbeiten statt. Elf Studierende setzten sich über mehrere Monate hinweg intensiv mit dem Freiheitsbegriff in der Kunst auseinander und entwickelten individuelle künstlerische Positionen.
In Kooperation mit dem Berliner Medienkünstler Philipp Geist und unter der kuratorischen Leitung von Anke Eckardt entstand eine Ausstellung mit Videoinstallationen, Mixed-Media-Arbeiten und interaktiven Konzepten, die aktuelle gesellschaftliche und politische Debatten über Kunst, Freiheit und Meinungsäußerung reflektierten.
Der Workshop verband technische Ansätze des Projection Mappings mit künstlerischer Reflexion und experimentellen Formen und regte zur Auseinandersetzung mit der Rolle der Kunst in der Gesellschaft an. Der Eintritt zur Ausstellung war frei.
Under the motto “To every age its art, to art its freedom”, on 18 March 2025 students of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz presented their artistic projects at MUMUTH (György Ligeti Hall). Over several months, eleven students explored the concept of freedom in art, developing individual works that addressed pressing social and political issues.
In collaboration with Berlin-based media artist Philipp Geist and under the curatorial direction of Anke Eckardt, the exhibition featured video installations, mixed-media works, and interactive concepts reflecting on art, politics, and freedom of expression.
The workshop combined the technical aspects of projection mapping with artistic reflection and experimental practice, encouraging critical engagement with the role of art in society. Admission was free.
