Kirche im Licht in Weilheim war eines der besonders emotionalen Projekte des Jahres 2025. Gemeinsam mit Jürgen Geiger entstand in der Kirche Mariä Himmelfahrt ein audiovisuelles Konzertformat, in dem Orgelmusik, Lichtkunst, Architektur und Atmosphäre zu einem gemeinsamen Erfahrungsraum verschmolzen.
Die Vorstellungen fanden jeweils um 18:30 Uhr und 20:30 Uhr statt. Musikalisch spannte der Abend einen Bogen von klassischer Orgelmusik bis zu Bearbeitungen und Interpretationen, unter anderem zu John Williams / Star Wars und The Notwist. Gleichzeitig verwandelte Philipp Geist den Kirchenraum durch Projektionen, poetische Lichtbilder und räumliche Kompositionen in ein begehbares Werk.
Die Resonanz war außergewöhnlich: viermal ausverkauft, Standing Ovations, große Aufmerksamkeit und eine starke emotionale Rückmeldung des Publikums. Für Philipp Geist war dieses Projekt in mehrfacher Hinsicht wichtig: künstlerisch, biografisch, lokal und als gemeinsames Projekt mit dem Lichtkunst Weilheim e.V.
Gerade weil Klang, Licht, Architektur und sakraler Raum in dieser Dichte zusammenkamen, entstand eine intensive Form von Gegenwart und atmosphärischer Konzentration. Der große Erfolg dieses Projekts war zugleich ein starkes Signal für den weiteren Weg in Richtung Lichtkunst Festival #4 im Oktober 2026.

Church in Light in Weilheim was one of the most emotional projects of 2025. Together with Jürgen Geiger, an audiovisual concert format was created at the Church of Mariä Himmelfahrt, where organ music, light art, architecture, and atmosphere merged into one shared experiential space.
Performances took place at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm each evening. Musically, the program ranged from classical organ repertoire to interpretations including John Williams / Star Wars and The Notwist. At the same time, Philipp Geist transformed the church through projections, poetic light imagery, and spatial compositions into a walk-in artwork.
The response was extraordinary: four sold-out performances, standing ovations, strong public attention, and an intense emotional resonance. For Philipp Geist, the project was important on many levels: artistically, biographically, locally, and as a collaborative project with Lichtkunst Weilheim e.V.
Because sound, light, architecture, and sacred space came together with such intensity, a highly concentrated and present atmosphere emerged. The great success of this project also became a strong signal for the continuation toward Light Art Festival #4 in October 2026.
